The Ireland's Climate Information Platform (ICIP) project, funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, aims to provide access to geospatial information and knowledge, from multiple sources, in order to allow Ireland adapt better to climate change, in terms of social, economic and environmental impacts. The development of ICIP is underpinned by end user requirements and is conceived as a long-term initiative which will evolve as new research and identified needs become available.
Development of ICIP is currently in its implementation stage, but once operational it will provide a 'one stop shop' resource which will assist in: 1) information provision; 2) capacity building; and 3) decision support, associated with actions to meet the challenges of climate change.
