The Atlantic Forum Workshop, jointly organised by the CMRC and the Office of VP External Affairs, attracted over 200 visitors from across Europe to UCC’s main campus on the 4th – 5th March.

Dr. Michelle Cronin from CMRC features as this weeks 'Explorer of the week' for National Geographic.

We are delighted, that as part of this programme, Marine Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI), led by Prof. Alistair Borthwick, and hosted by Beaufort Research UCC, will be funded.

Dr. Ned Dwyer, CMRC, compiled information on over 40 variables across the atmospheric, oceanic and terrestrial domains, detailing trends in everything from rainfall amount to ocean temperature to changes in land cover.

SUSTAIN has reached its conclusion, and the SUSTAIN tool developed by CMRC and 11 other European organisations is now ready to be used and is applicable to all 22 coastal states of the European Union.

The CMRC is part of the organising committee of this European Space Agency sponsored conference held in association with the Irish Presidency of the EU to investigate how satellite remote sensing, positioning and telecommunication systems can assist in better stewardship of our oceans while contributing to economic and jobs growth.

Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) is coming to prominence as a new approach to the governance of the seas and oceans.
